What grew
Alphabet was the largest change. Berkshire held 106.0 million shares across its two share classes on June 30, up 83.2% from 57.8 million in March; the stock first appeared in Berkshire’s 13F in the third quarter of 2025, with 17.8 million shares. At $37.76 billion it became the third-largest holding, ahead of Coca-Cola. Delta Air Lines, absent from Berkshire’s filings from mid-2020 until it reappeared in the first quarter of 2026, grew 44.0% to 57.3 million shares. Lennar rose 29.7% across its two classes, the New York Times 3.7%, and the small Macy’s stake 141.8%.
What shrank or left
Capital One was cut 58.0% and Nucor 52.5%, Kroger 22.0%, Ally Financial 6.9%, Bank of America 5.9% — still 483.4 million shares, worth $27.54 billion — and DaVita 4.1%. Constellation Brands, 13.4 million shares a year earlier and 632,890 in March, was sold out. D.R. Horton came back as a tiny line of 3,564 shares ($0.6 million); Berkshire had held about 1.5 million shares until mid-2025. Apple, American Express, Coca-Cola, Chevron, Occidental Petroleum, Chubb, Moody’s and Kraft Heinz kept the same share counts.
A 13F shows holdings at the end of the quarter. It does not say on which day shares were bought or sold, or who at Berkshire made the decision.
The same shares at today’s prices
Repriced at the October 9, 2026 close, and assuming nothing changed since June 30, the portfolio would be worth about $310.91 billion, 3.9% more. Chevron rose 27.9% from its June 30 close, Occidental 23.8%, VeriSign 20.7% and Apple 16.3%, while DaVita fell 19.4%, Ally 18.2% and American Express 8.9%. The next 13F, for the third quarter, is due by mid-November.
The 13F covers U.S.-listed stocks held by Berkshire and its subsidiaries. It leaves out the businesses Berkshire owns outright, stakes listed outside the United States, and cash and Treasury bills, so it is Berkshire’s U.S. stock portfolio rather than the whole company. Not investment advice.
